texture found! posting pics
« on: December 07, 2013, 01:06:47 am »

               hello again everyone,

since i (finaly) figures out how to work textures (thanks for everyones help!) ive been going on a reskinning craze. ive taken a look at some thegeorge's nwn2 reskins and did some pretty decent retextures.

I however have one that seems to continuously elude me, and cannot seem to locate the barn textures found here:

nwvault.ign.com/View.php

nwnexplorer is eluding me this piece of texture. if anyone with spare or very bored time wishes to help locate the elusive name(s) of the .tga or .dds file id be greatful for it '<img'>

well got a quick update. i found out the barn textures are re-used by other models. I didnt know that was a thing

I wrote out "test" onto the textures themselves to see where they wounded up.

here is what ive turned up so far, im happy with the overall results and intended to have a clean looking building. I did use one of zwerkules roof textures but only to complement the set they are placed in.

im aiming for "german" style buildings since we have a large lack thereof such buildings

thanks to zwerkules and his amazing medieval tileset

thanks i liked how they turned out. i feel the dark wood really did what i needed

i have some weird issues where the textures seem to "fade out" or "tile" in a strange way (as seen by image 1 with the white chimney) when you walk further away from them. Its hardly noticeable so im not really concerned

Most likely those textures are mipmapped DDS files (they have lo-rez versions of the texture for the engine to use in the LoD (Level of Detail) system). This reduces the load on the graphics engine trying to load massive detail on the mountain a mile away (don't *really* need to see the fleas on that hyena hiding behind the bush on the next mountain, eh?

You might try to either use a custom texture without mipmapping or add a .txi with
mipmap 0
downsamplemax 0
downsamplemin 0

everyone can grab the files here:

www.sendspace.com/file/yvwokn

it was meant for use on my project, so you may have to rework them if you want to use them for thegeorges nwn2 buildings

enjoy and feel free to add them to whatever you want
