Need help with an animation issue.
« on: August 26, 2013, 01:42:49 am »

I'm trying my hand at some modeling for a private little project, and I'm trying to use the whole Supermodel thing (since modeling's hard enough for me and I'd probably hurt my brain with animations). I'm using GMax with the NWMax plus plugin.

I'm trying to create a fairy in the Ocarina of Time style (little glowing ball with wings). I've basically attached wings to a Will o' Wisp emitter (thanks to The Amethyst Dragon for his glowing stones, by the way, taught me a lot about emitters) and tried to set it up using the c_a_bat Supermodel.  It bobs around...but the thing won't flap.

Here's what I've attempted:

- Renamed each wing part (Bat_Lbasewing and Bat_Lbasewing01)
- Aligned the wings with the bat's wings.

It bobs and looks pretty, but the wings won't flap. Any thoughts?

You're going to need to name the other parts of the fairy model the exact same as the bat model going from right after the aurora base until you get to the wings.

In this case, to get to the wings in c_a_bat, the tree is set up like this:

c_a_bat (aurora base)
- bat_rootdummy
- - Bat_body
- - - Bat_Lbasewing
- - - - Bat_Lwingtip
- - - Bat_Lbasewing01
- - - - Bat_Lwingtip01

So your tree should look like (gotta pay attention to which way parts are linked as well as named):

c_naughtyfelicia (aurora base)
- bat_rootdummy
- - Bat_body
- - - Bat_Lbasewing
- - - - Bat_Lwingtip
- - - Bat_Lbasewing01
- - - - Bat_Lwingtip01

THEY FLAP! Amethyst, you're my hero.

I was missing the Bat_body part, which interrupted the wings from moving! Thanks for the help!
