NWN Head Skinning Problem
« on: June 10, 2013, 07:42:47 am »

Okay, this has been driving me up a damn wall all day. Finally cracked open NWMax and am trying to create some new heads. However, I'm running into an infuriating problem: The texture never appears ingame.

I am using the override folder to drop the new head in (pfe0_head130).

Creating this in 3dsmax 7/NWMax .8

What the render looks like:

The .plt file is 10 layers, 256x256, saved in Gimp with the .plt plugin available on the Vault.

Here's what shows up ingame:

Yeah, that's a goddamn jaguar face. How'd it get there? I have no damn idea. At the very least the UVW mapping seems to be holding (note mirrored image in the middle), until...

Here's what shows up when I try putting the files in a hakpak:

I've scoured the internet looking for tutorials and information but I'm lost. Does anyone know what the hell is going on with this model?

I believe nwn uses head slots #130, 131 and 132 for rakshasi tiger, wolf, bear heads. They are overlaying yours.

You're a genius, that knocked out the jaguar face problem. Now I'm back to Slenderman's sister, which I'll count as progress. Back to mapping again. And again. Thanks!

Really nice looking head! Hope it works out for you! I can't really think of why it's doing that myself!
