               <happily showing off...>

The trick is "ResetXForm" :-)

'Image

After scaling anything (or doing just about anything else), reset the transform on the object because max tends to store transform information on the model that NwN is blind to.  If you scale it in max, NwN doesn't know it unless you reset transforms. This gets the info to the aurorabase and the exporter.

If you forget, especially when you get into animations of long chains of objects, your stuff will start doing creepy poltergiest things! Forwarned!

Edit: Found it! Some good advice was given to me about this.

<...an old trick>

               Thanks, Rolo and Pearls.  That does the trick.

The main "problem" the sanity checker loves is but nothing to worry about are "not welded vertices". I explained that in one other thread before. So ignore that error and just enjoy what you´ve created. '<img'>

And one "big" advice. GEt rid of that weld vertices to next cm when you work on small objects. They wrote that thing in mind everyone uses their back in the day "units" setup for DLA but never explained what they exactly used for their base scene... It will screw up your lovely work!!!

Just to clarify...

When working on anything other than tiles, those two sanity checks should be turned off.  Even when working on tiles you could leave these off and still export a working tile.  The only issue you may see would be "sparklies".  Another issue you could encounter would be concerning the walkmesh due to polys being too small, which would cause some strange pathfinding behavior, if I'm not mistaken.

[EDIT]
Thank you Baba for posting that little gem that I should have mentioned (read his post below... do it...  NOW!) ':whistle:'

               You would only see sparklies if you dont weld your vertices manually which you always should as a basic rule. And i hope i didnt sound not gratefull for what DLA has done, it was just this stupid thing at times that they could have explained a bit.

               Is there any documentation at all for NWmax and VelsTools?

In the nwmax install directory you will find a docs directory that has some documentation.

I did find this for VelsTools on the Wayback Machine

               <grabbing...>

That's a great find, MDA!

Now, to see if I can get permission to PDF it and add it to the Vault...
