Lockup when selecting portrait in toolset

               This is cross posted from the toolset forum -- by the dates of the posts, it's pretty inactive.  So...don't yell at me for the plea for help. 

Like the title says, the toolset freezes with I try to select a portrait -- creature, placeable it doesn't matter.  I did complete reinstall (from gog.com), no haks, no overrides, new mod, and the toolset still locks up when selecting a new
portrait.

The only new thing that's been installed on my vista system recently are the vista updates...

               Fixed.  My toolset had been running in XP compatibility mode -- the only way it would work for me for years -- turned compatibility mode off, and it works.
