Anyone Have This Issue With Haks?
« on: August 30, 2012, 10:51:36 pm »

I corrupted my module and am trying to get the backup to work. When I rename the file extension to .mod and try to load it in the toolset it says "hak file missing". If I open in game it won't load and says "couldn't load hak". Yet I can load an older version from a month ago - with the same hak list - and that one works fine...

It sounds like your back up may be corrupted also.

Here is something to try.

Make a copy of you module from a month ago. I Will call it "NewMod.mod"

Change the file extention on the back up module to .erf

Open the NewMod.mod in the toolset and inport the .erf (BackUp) into it.

.....

You can also try opening the BackUp module with the HakPack editor, extracting the .ifo file and opening it(the .ifo file) with the .gff editor to see what haks are listed.

......
EDIT:  Just for refferance.   .mod .sav .hak and .erf   are all the same file structure.    They are just a bunch of little files all stuck together into one big file.   you can compair them to a .zip or other archive without compression.
