Radial Menu Overload
« on: December 12, 2011, 11:02:11 pm »

This isn't a problem for me yet... but I've noticed that it could be.

I am using the class Feat radial menu for adding new abilities. I've implemted the following:  a track feat, a convert religion ability for religious classes, player tools menu (which opens up a subradial menu), and gnome spell like abilities. Combined with the horse menu, and default class abilities it looks like I could very easily fill up this menu.

A paladin or a monk completely fill up this radial menu wihtout multiclassing.

So I am looking for ways to have the best of both worlds. I could gain a slot by getting rid of horses. But what else can I do?

Can I send spell like abilities to the Spell radial menu?
Can I create custom subradial menus with more than five slots?

I a little confused, I have done pretty much the same thing and have not filled it up because the game automatically add more sub-radials for the class feats. You should be able to have five with five in each so that a total of 25 I think. Last time I tested it I could not overflow it and I tried to get every submenu I could. Might be that you using the player tools instead of just using the class submenus.

No, I have not encountered the problem yet... I am just anticipating that it could be, because I did not know that it spontaneously created more menus. If that is the case, then great. Its a relief to know that this won't be a problem.

Excellent. I took out horses anyway. I decided I didn't want to have to manage that system in the module. That'll remove the amount of visual overload a player will experience when navigating the class menu. Yes visual overload is not the same thing I was talking about above, but still a cleaner interface can't hurt.

Thanks for the help, ShadowM.

Removing unused stuff from radial menu and combine feats falling into one category is a good idea and I can recommend it. The engine makes next radial menu but the more easier to find something the better I think.

Yes for a first question No for second however there is one issue with the feat subradial I found out. I created a five spells subradial for assassin in my PW and noticed that all spells uses Targetting of the masterspell, so if you want to have for example a spell like dimensional jump (straight teleport cast on area) then master spell have to contain area bit in TargetType field. Which makes all subspells able to target location although they should be cast only on self.

Also unlike normal spells, you cannot exclude caster from being targetted with a feat (or something like that was that issue, I re-check this as Im not so sure anymore)

How do you add abilities to the spell radial menu?

I'd like to get my spell-like abilities out of the class feat menu.

That is what I thought. I however misunderstood one of your comments and thought that you said you could.
