Seeking some help with custom content.
« on: August 31, 2011, 06:35:35 am »

Hello, I hope I am posting in the proper forum, I am seeking some help in adding custom content to the game, namely the original campaign prelude- chapter 4. I am seeking to add a heads hack to the original campaign, and The pack has instructions for inclusion to a module. How would I include the haK pack into the normal game? I ask because when looking at the editor it has only the prelude and chapter 1, chapter 1E , and chapter 2 as what can be edited. Id like to be able to see the heads ( for my character and a friends) throughout all the chapters. The name of the Hak Pack is Headhunter trophy case Vol 1--and can be found at the NWN Vault. Any help is appreciated.

One thing you could try is using TlkEdit (nwvault.ign.com/View.php), open the head hak with it then extract all the contents into your overrides folder.

There is a sub folder called NWM  that is N followed by W followed by M as in Mary.

C:\\Neverwinternights\\nwn\\nwm

Each file in that folder has the extension NWM as well.

You can copy them all to your modules folder, then rename them to .MOD instead of .NWM.

From that point, you can edit every one of them to add haks etc.

Anyway, from that point forwards, after the rename, you can modify the original stories in any fashion that you see fit.

Be sure to keep your originals that were located in the NWM folder as a backup copy.

Thanks for the info, i will try tlkedit, also.......I am not trying to make a new module, I am just trying to add some heads to the original campaign, for flavor . I have included some armor and weapons into the overide folder, and they have worked. I am now trying to get the heads in there. My thanks .

Ok the editor did not work, so am going to try Bannors suggestion, I can see the files I want to transfer over, just a question, there are files called XP1_chapter1, 2 3 etc, are those also needed to be modified, or just the main ones that say chapter 1 , 2 1e etc????

XP1 is the SoU expansion. If you want the heads to work in the expansion as well, add them, otherwise don't edit those files.
