loadhint.2da : seeking explanation
« on: July 01, 2011, 02:38:49 pm »

                Does anyone know what the CAMPAIGNONLY  column in loadhint.2da is used for? HINT is obvious being a TLK table entry. LABEL I suspect is for human readers.

I am also unaware of any scripting hooks to loadscreen hints. I would appreciate help with this also.

               The campaignonly column controls when the loadhints appear.  If you want yours to show up, set it to 0 (it's what I set all mine to, and they all show up for me).

As far as I can tell:
0 = any module
1 = NWN
2 = SoU
3 = HotU
4 = any module

I've never seen any scripting that affects loadscreen hints.  The hints appear to be completely random, picked from all of the ones marked in loadhints.2da as "available for all modules" (set to 0 or 4 in that campaignonly column).

               Thanks, Amethyst Dragon. Thats useful info.

I wonder if there is away to set the campaign int as Bioware appears to have done, and specify particular hints for particular modules. I'll look into it when I have time.
