NWHak Error

               Also crashes using NWN2 Packer, but the program does fine with other files. I'm not sure how everyone else can download and work with these files but they give me an error. If NWHak was messed up, sure... but it's not.

Edit: NWPacker gives a better error memory, if in french. "Memory Insufficiant" ... not sure why.

               How many items are you adding to said hak.  Much like a module resource, you're limited to 16k and change for number of items allowed.  If you have a lot lot more, and depending on what you're adding it's easy to go over 16k.



I never have gotten the error you got, but resources when loading simply overwrite each other and a bit of other strange behavior.



If you feel like a bit of an experiment, simply pack up your MDL, PLT's and other textures into a RAR file.  Send me a PM with a link, I'll have a look.

               So far, you are either not paying attention to what folks are telling you, or at least not directly answering the questions.



Step by step do things this way:



1) Open original hak, do not extract anything at all here.

2) Add just a few of your new files and add them to the original content.  

3) keep doing this, a few files at a time, until you get your error.



That will point out which exact files are causing the issue.



You can list the files, and their respective sizes here, and maybe we can point out exactly what you are doing wrong.  



However, you keep doing the exact same error every time your report it.  Using multiple programs to attempt to do the same thing.  



NWHak.exe is ALL that you need.  You do NOT need nwnviewer, or nwnexplorer, or most specifically nwn2 packer.  You are working with a simple NWN 1 type hak file.  Stick with NWHak.exe only at this stage, and Just add a few files at a time until you get that error.  Then you may be able to figure out what exactly is happening or at least tell us what files are causing the issue.

How sure are you that you've tried this with a newly downloaded version? What I mean is, could have have only -thought- you were opening the new version, but still be using the one you'd modified earlier?

Try a brand new download of the hak file in question, and then put it in another folder, like on your desktop. Now, open nwhak.exe and navigate out of the nwn/hak folder to your new desktop folder, (File, Open) and open that hak.

What happens? Just try opening it first, and nothing more.

Yes that is basically what I did, same error. I also had a friend download it, extract and send me the files. Same error.

I got around it by downloading several other programs on the vault and found one that would work finally...
