need some help mergeing item properties
« on: August 31, 2010, 04:43:06 pm »

               I started merging the PRC
and Ben Harrisons Item properties expanded hak together to get a
large diverse set of item properties for my mod. I was able to get
all of the IPE to work after using Axe Murderers killer TLK editor. A
few of the PRC item properties get overridden however. Now my
question is do I need to merge 2das as well or might I need to alter
the tlk file by hand?

You must put the BH's itemproperties lines under last lines in PRC itemproperties in order not to overwrite them, also there are surely some itemproperties already implemented in PRC so hunt down multiple instances and remove them from BH's ipes, not the PRC one.

Deep info: Any item made in toolset has reference into some iprp 2da and exact line. If you change it all items that used that line gets changed too.

Thank you ShaDoOw that is very helpful and makes sense to me now. Originally I was just moving BH's ipes into the first 500 lines in the tlk. Just so I am understanding correctly I need to remove duplicates in both the tlk and 2das?

No, you dont have to remove duplicates at all, you will have then in toolset few values twice but it does not break anything, however if you know how, I recommend to remove them, to avoid confusion for you builders. For TLK no you dont have to remove there anything, keep it that way.
