While I realise that my Map Mats submission on the vault does not have the following that others have, some people have been kind enough to actually download it and leave nice comments. It is for these people and anyone else that might be interested that I decided to make an announcement on here.
I finally got the conversion from tga to dds to mostly work correctly at last. While there are still major problems with dark blue lines on a paler blue background I have been able to convert most of my textures now. This has produced a significant saving in file size for the add-ons but not the main download due to the blue problem mentioned before. As part of the update I have included extra documentation and added four new models to each of the original add-ons.
These four models are there to alleviate what I saw as a problem with my initial release of the 3 add-ons - there was nothing to click on to interact with any of the maps. I have now introduced what I am terming targets. These are simply transparent usable placeables. Because they are transparent I have added an extra design time only hak that is used to indicate their position of the targets on the map in the toolset. As these targets address a problem with the add-ons and not the main Map Mats download, they are included with the add-ons.
As well as updating the original three add-ons to version 1.1 I have also released another five add-ons. They are as follows:-
Add-on 4 - a map of the Dales (i.e. Mistledale, Shadowdale, Daggerdale etc.) from the Forgotten Realms.
Add-on 5 - a map of Eberon (Yes I know it should really be Eberron, but that's what's on the map).
Add-on 6 - a map of the continent of Khovaire on Eberron.
Add-on 7 - a map of the Kingdom of Furyondy on Oerth (Greyhawk).
Add-on 8 - a map of Greyhawk.
Each of these has the same functionality as the other three add-ons.
I hope that you may find one or more of these to be of use. The links in the sig.
