Class to beat official CP + SoF without diying once ?
« on: June 28, 2016, 05:17:09 pm »

I want to try a new challenge so I won't re-spawn. If I die I just delete de game and re-start over.

I want to go over the original campain + epension and then the Sand of Fate series with that character.

Aone got a build to suggest ?

Last game I've played was with a heavy paladin/CoT charisma build so I'd try something different for now.

EDIT: I might consider using a merc for the first few level if its too hard.

The OC is meant to be played with one character and the expansions with another character. Both the OC and SoU start at level 1. If you insist on playing all 3 with 1 character, the least broken way to do it (but still broken) is SoU, then the OC, and then HotU.

Here's a build I played in SoU, The Nether Scrolls, HotU, and Sands of Fate. Hint, have Risolvr put acid damage on Enserric the Longsword, very handy in SoF.

Yeah sorry I meant OC + HotU

EDIT: Also I know that RDD in strenght build are considered overpowered but I fail to understand what is so benificial adding all of these bard/RDD level. You care to explain ?

The 15th level of RDD gives you another +1 AC, and a bonus feat at RDD 14. Also, RDD has Search and Spot as class skills, and those are nice to have in Sands of Fate. The Bard levels after the first one are there for skill dumps in Tumble (for AC) and UMD (to use things that you couldn't otherwise).

The NPCs in HotU will recognize you as the hero from SoU, but only if you actually are the hero from SoU (Or so I am told. I've never tried HotU without SoU before.). They also talk about the hero from the OC has a different person from you.

How do you handle self healing during boss fight with no skill pts spent in "heal"  ?

Enserric the Longsword has vampiric regeneration (which is why I use him a lot), and I wear things that have Regeneration, and any further healing needed comes from potions.

K nice will be a little different then the only char I,ve got close to lvl cap. Charisma paladin that had acces to a +200HP lay pf hand and high heal I could go from near death to full HP in 2-3 round.

You are not using heal potions? (Fair enough not to do that to increase the challenge; I just didn't see that mentioned in the post.)

BTW, a bard with UMD can also use various heal/regenerate/etc. scrolls.

I'll use healing potions but I've always felt they were so weak that I pretty much always dump pts in heal and use healing kit.

By the time you get to Sands of Fate, your AC and Regeneration will be good enough that you will seldom need healing. The Crown of Thorns, for example, give +5 Regeneration and you should have Risolvr put +2 Regen onto Enserric. Then there are rings and epic amulets of health that add more Regen if desired, at the cost of not using those slots for something else, like an amulet of AC. Carry potions of Heal for boss fights.
