Any new multiplayer moba type mods, and do ppl still play online?

Haven't played in about a decade, there aren't any good RPG's these days.

I remember nwn had some good multiplayer coop action, and moba style mods online.

 

If I go to play online are there going to be lots of people to play with, and good multplayer mods?

or is it dead?

That's really subjective. How many people do you want to play with? NWN will never be an MMO in that regard. Most of the popular servers (barring the adult rp ones) don't have more than 10 active players at a time. And most of the servers I've tried, all the players seem to be doing something else, and are not really available to form parties. In that aspect, many servers still feel like single player mods. The biggest pro to playing online vs. a single player mod for me is that they are often in perpetual states up being upgraded and fixed. They often have better customizations, loot and support if something goes wrong.

 

The last part is kind of hard to do. Check out NWList for player count info: http://www.nwnlist.com/Please keep in mind that servers with very high player count are adult RP servers and there is usually very open, sex rp like immediately as soon as you sign in. There's not really any MOBA stuff going on now, but there are many active PWs (both Action and RP).

The exceptions to the rule (and hence why Icywind said most and not all) tend to be action PWs that are established and require groups at large levels (though there are a few RP worlds which are exceptions as well).  Higher Ground would be the prime Action example I know of so that might be something you want to check out.  I wound up not liking the server due to distaste for many of the design decisions but you might like it -- seems many people do.

 

And yes, http://www.nwnlist.com/is useful...and yes, ignore any PW with >30 people online, those are "sex rp" servers.
