Grim Legacy - Help please.
« on: March 20, 2015, 05:59:08 pm »

I have completed most of the quests, but cannot find the chalice to cure the king?  There does appear to be one house in a forest I should be able to get into, if I had a key, and an area exit if I also had a key, both located on the same map.

Can anyone help?

I'm sure if someone had an answer, and were willing to share, they would have come here before that sub forum.

The fact is that people who have solved problems do not tend to share their intel.

I bet if solutions to NWN modules were more forthcoming, more people would visit here.

Perhaps so. Of course, even people who post asking for help and then complain that they didn't get any often fail to follow up by posting what solution they eventually found. '<img'>

If someone has a problem with Grim Legacy I'd be willing to share.

Is the module any good, btw? I have started it and I feel like "meeeeh".

It gets better.  It took me several goes to get to the end, albeit I eventually felt it was worth the effort.  There is at least one conversation whereby if you do the tactically correct thing and attack, you miss out on a plot element, and you're stuck.  Also there is a path to a frozen wasteland that is not obvious, which if you don't find, the adventure ends as well.  This is in the Troll caves iirc.

This is one of those modules a walkthrough is definitely needed.

Hints.

Make sure you get all the arrows and bolts that do +10 damage vs undead, 60 of each in the city iirc, and get the Vampire quest from somebody in an inn.

In a hut in the troll caves there is a secret passage.

When you meet your main adversary near the end don't attack him straight away, otherwise you will not complete the quest.  Make sure you talk first.

This module needs a walkthrough.  It took me several attempts to complete it, and some of the reasons should not have occurred.

Actually really enjoyed the module once I got to the end.  However, the amount of effort to get all the undead killing stuff was too much effort for myself.

I have loaded a save game, though I found that at the level I took most encounters were wimpy so I chugged invisibility after invisibility and let me henchie fight, while I run to the end. Again, meh, finished the game, but it was not worth that much.

While finding troll caves were not a problem I got stuck after killing warwick. If you decide to play make notes where doors say they require a key! It's similar to never-openable door text, so look out for them! This module not only deserves a walkthrough, but balancing for one range of levels!

HINT SPOILERS: go to large house in forest that you could not unlock previously.
