According to a tweet from the IGN president, (a guy reputable ppl have said to actually be a take-charge-no-nonsense-kinda-guy):
NwVault was not intended to be pulled, and he was surprised to hear the news (just before 4th of july) and says IGN team is trying to fix it..
*supposedly* so this is not an underhanded EA/Atari attempt to "kill" NwN... *Casts Lesser Dispel Paranoia*
Totally-Not-Official-Insider-Eight-Hand-Rumors: The IGN vault data was intended to be archived to a wiki file server backup, but due to the unforeseen conflict between neverwinter (the new chineese perfect-world 4e mmorpg) and neverwinter-nights wikis, the vault got thrown into purgatory by the single ascii character "-"... (in an unforeseen error, all the pages IGN tried to migrate to the wiki lost the -nights part)
(so yes, apparently a single letter killed the IGN nwn vault, and all the data is still there, unaccessible atm, lol)
Were not waiting for IGN tho, as our good man Rolo has been uploading backups to cloud for volunteer migratory workers (rolo is focusing on tilesets, I'm working on scripts, and supposedly someone has already gotten all the portraits uploaded, so even worst-case-scenario, we should have everything uploaded in a few months tops... (and im told skywing is also on the case, seeing what can be automated, so cross your fingers)
