Guess what?
Neverwinter Nightes turned 10 on June 18. The original version was launched in the US on June 18, 2002 and on July 3, 2002 in Europe. Wow. To be here, still playing the game with the community as strong as it is, the players still playing, and the developers still developing is a testament to the revolutionary game that we all love.
To celebrate this momentous achievement, we organized the Neverwinter Nights Player Appreciation Days (NWPAD) between June 18 - July 3, 2012
What was NWPAD?
NWPAD was a community-wide celebration of our community. The idea involved a dozen participating persistent worlds that hosted events throughout the 2 weeks + 2 days in celebration of their playerbase and encourage new players to visit. Events ran the gamut from "social days" where players could lounge about enjoying each other's company to special roleplay events for veterans and new players. There was even a special World Walker challenge whereby the top 10 winners who 'checked-in' the most times during the event were awarded special prizes.
Ultimately, the goal was to let players know how much we appreciated them taking time out of their lives to live in our worlds.
Thanks to all who helped either promote the Neverwinter Nights Player Appreciation Days or host an event. Everybody helped to make Neverwinter Nights a success: players, developers, content creators, PW hosts...everyone. Everyone shares in the continued success of this wonderful game and community, 10 years young!
