I have never tried the Shifter class. I wanted to get your input. What do you think? Good?
If you like the Shifter class, any tips or tricks you are willing to share? For myself, I am not clear when to use what form.
Shifters tend to do well in low magic environments. Once the standard weapons get to be extremely better than the shifted ones, you know that there will be problems. You can go for a variety of forms or stick to one form. Here is a list of things you might want to look at.
Dragon shape: Huge tank with high saves and good damage reduction
Kobold commando: Hide in plain sight, and sneaks
Rakshasa: Immunity to most magic and infinite icestorm
Risen lord: damage immunity and undead immunities
Vampire: regeneration, domination, level drain that ignores the target's ability modifier in the save.
Wyrmling: true seeing, can shift infinitely into (good for scouting), flies over caltrops.
Iron golem: deadly poisonous gas
