Updating editions
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:29:03 am »

I was recommended to buy NWN, so I got the diamond edition.  Not sure if it was most current, so I went to update and is says:

my edition: 1.66.8074
nwnupdage edition: 1.23

my understanding is 1.66 should be a newer version than 1.23, yet a module I downloaded says I need to update. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

               http://www.neverwint...nfo/players.htm - critical rebuild section

then after you install 1.69 consider installing also my unofficial patch, if you have english version, try latest beta (1.71b2 link in my signature), for other languages only 1.70 is available

The game is at patch 1.69. The nwn updater is a separate thing from the game.

The retail Diamond DVD provides patch v1.66 only. To get anything higher one must locate the applicable CR and DL that.  Supposedly, the GoG version of Diamond furnished patch v1.69 with their DL but many customers in the community have indicated it didn't operate properly until the CR was applied. I have no clue what other game DL sites have provided with their game version but the v1.69 CR will repair any problems.

The Bio updater hasn't worked for years.  Hence, they furnished all the CRs on their website... the one that went *poof*.
