Vendor and drops questions
« on: April 18, 2011, 01:30:15 pm »

How do you buy multiples of the same item? so annoyed that every time I was 40 or so potions I have to left click and drag it to bags or right click and hold on buy every time.

Also when it comes to loot that drops whats worth keeping? I know with gear if I can't use it or a henchman can't its vendor food but what about stuff thats not armour and weapons? gemstones? traps? other stuff?

Also why can't you vendor traps? aparently no vendor will take them due to them being stolen but I would of thought stuff you take off corpses would be more "stolen" than traps you disarm in the street? can't carry all the traps and the spot near Aribeth in Act 1 always ends up with a million traps littering the floor.

If the module doesn't script its merchants to sell stacks, there is unfortunately nothing to do but keep clicking.  Sry.

In MOST cases, quest items have been flagged as plot so can't be sold, but everything else can.  If you find you've sold something important, like a reagent, you can always return to the merchant and buy it back.  I generally hold onto rubies, diamonds and expensive gems until near the end in case they are needed in some recipe (too expensive to repurchase).  In the rare instance that a plot item has been lost/sold, check the divine pool if the module provides one.

The module designer will script the merchant to deal or not deal in stolen items.  Typically, only the black market merchant types will buy them so search for one of those.  Most traps are not worth the trouble so I usually limit my trap toting to only the high level ones like deadlies and gas ones.  If my PC is not a trapper, they usually just get ignored.

Talking about OC for all this.

Never seen a use for gems and stuff like that which is why I figured i'd ask.

Can't believe bioware not putting in a way to buy more than one of an item at a time '<img'>

try right click and the ")" key

it however dont work very well if the item you want to buy is very close to top or left side of screen, that way your mouse will get moved with radial that shows up and then you have to move your mouse to that item again.

I've never heard of this, but I'm interested in finding out more.

It doesn't seem to work for me, but I could be misunderstanding.

The ")" key on my keyboard is shift-zero, which does not seem to do anything in my install of NWN.
