These are two annoying nuances of playing NWN that I would love to remedy in some manner... so am on bended knee, begging for any solutions.  These have been annoying me since I first started playing the game so it is nothing that just started, just mounting in side-effects.  Perhaps there is a setting in one of the ini's or something simple to alleviate the issues?  Dunno.

Malady #1 - Nausea
First, is there any way to prevent the constant auto-zooming of the camera for each convo?  This continual zooming and twisting camera angle becomes almost unbearable at times, most notably when choosing spells from a henchperson.  Since I am the all-powerful master of my moral universe, I would like to man a constant viewing distance.

Malady #2 - Carpal tunnel
Equally irritating is the way that the auto-targeting during combat forces my PC to attack a target that it doesn't want to or isn't appropriate.  Currently, the only way to get the proper targets attacked in sequence is by clicking like a maniac, hoping my cursor won't stray a pixel away from the intended target.  My PC always seems to be targeting summons or non-critical foes after a kill has been completed if I don't continue clicking. Is there a fix to deliver total control to the omnipotent commander of the action?

In SP situations, there's always the pause routine to remedy some of the idiosyncrasies, but on-line play is quite another ball of wax.

Any suitable medication would be happily received,

TIA, folks!

'' I can't wait to see how HipMaestro himself is going to answer that one. ''
Only time will tell if he really is that hero everyone keeps talking about... ''
(Could we have this thread stickied, for anyone to see the fall of the last of the NWN heroes?)

Even if I'm ashamed to say I can't think of any solution myself. None... '<img'>

#1.  Options - Controls - Enable Dialog Zoom.  Uncheck it to turn off zoom-in for all dialogs.
Or, if you only want it turned off for certain conversations, there is an option available when you create the conversation in the toolset.

#2.  I haven't found a solution and it's blasted annoying!  I'm guessing the only real solution would be a complete re-write of the toon attack script(s).

Are you asking from the standpoint of a player or a builder.

The Builer or Server Admin can stop the camera zoom. It is a setting on the "current file" tab , in the conversation file.

On the targeting,  I do not think there is anything that can be done about it.   Well I guess from a building stand point a PC next target could be attached to the OnDeath event of every creature.

From the Players stand point I don,t think anything can be done.

The Problem there is that the "toon attack script" is well hidden.  No problem finding the AI for a NPC, The Toon's is another matter all together.

For targetting; you can change attack target at any time but doing this will cancel the rest attacks in given round so you should count your attacks. If you have 5 attacks per round its easy, the end of round is when you perform only single attack. No engine solution for this doesn't exists.

I was going to say play solo and/or online, but it seems you find these annoyances there as well.  '<img'>

Blast!  I had cookie-itis and couldn't reply until I found out what this browser had screwed up handling the BSN account.  Anyhoo...

@Melkior_King: That is sweet!  I suspected there was a method to control this a bit but couldn't find it.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  No more bromo seltzer needed '<img'>

@Lightfoot:  This is strictly from a player's aspect.  There seems to be a proximity algorithm built in that auto-targets the last attacker... one that is very difficult to supercede by clicking. I am guessing one needs to target before the next calculation occurs.  But I may be completely wrong about that guess.

@ShaDoOoW: Yeah.  That's probably what I am trying to do with the manic clicking.  Except I really suck at timing hits so need a synapse reflex transplant in order to improve my innate abilities.  '<img'>

@avado: In SP, I can just pause to slow down the targeting and attack sequence action.  On-line, well... a magic user that is preparing to cast a spell can get off scott-free if his summon (or some puny minion) is actively attacking my PC.  Looks like AoO's are just the price to pay to break out of an undesirable attack sequence.

Hey, one out of two ain't bad.!  At least one issue is adequately resolved for which I am eternally grateful.

It's great to have knowledgeable brothers-in-arms to help right the ship. *waves*

@jml:  Re-examine that posthumous award of honor.  It is NOT made of bronze.  It is made of pressed sawdust, coated with bronze-colored paint and extremely flammable. '<img'>
