non-transferable items?

Does anyone know how to get rid of "non-transferable items"? My PC died, was raised by a party member, and I've noticed an item in my inventory called, "PC Properties". When I try to get rid of it, it gives me the message that the item is non-transferable. The description says it has to do with horses.
