Oops, Please Move. Wyvern Crown of Cormyr and Infinite Dungeons
« on: November 02, 2010, 07:56:55 pm »

I see in random places that NWN Diamond comes with these two premium modules included upon purchase. Is this true? If it is, then something is wrong with my retail copy because I have never seen these two modules included. Oh, and does the version of Witch's Wake that comes included the full, final version of Part 1 and, if so, can I still purchase Part 2 at the Bioware Store?

Thanks much!

[Edit]

I just realized this belongs in the Modules section of the forum and don't know how to delete my own thread. Sorry about that!

Not necessarily, this area is sometimes a catch-all venue.

With Diamond...
Kingmaker
Shadowguard
Witch's Wake Part 1 v1.1 (Remastered)
Contest of Champions
The Dark Ranger's Treasure
The Winds of Eremor
To Heir is Human

No others are available at this time, but since Diamond has been parked into GOG, well... who knows what the future may offer?

edit:  jml provided a link to previously purchased Premiums here.  I am unaware if anyone who is NOT a previous owner having DL'd any successfully, but if you try and succeed, please post your results here for the rest of us looking for a diamond in the rough.

Also, AFAIK there was only one version of Diamond released as retail, v1.66 which has all the aforementioned.  I wish I could remember if I was asked to confirm the installation of the other modules during installation, but alas, that part of the brain must have atrophied.

Thanks for the timely reply. I checked it out on GoG and they don't have those modules added. Shame too since Wyvern Crown seems to have some pretty good reviews.

There never was a Part 2, the series was abandoned after Part 1. '<img'>

As stated this is only an option for people who already own the Premium modules. Apart from being illegal, the download won't do you any good without the required authentification.

Inayity is the true one who deserves the credit for the find, here.
All I did was copy/pasting his thread.
But still, I truly enjoyed the compliment, my favorite Hip. ':bandit:'

I believe you have your wires crossed, olivier.  It is NOT illegal to download ANYTHING ANYWHERE EVER.  It IS illegal to distribute copyrighted materials. It is the responsibility of the provider to control the distribution and use, not the user.  The authentication procedure assures this (well, it's supposed to) so the entire point becomes moot.

I'd really like to believe that's true but I'm not so sure about that as you are. Just because the industries mainly concentrate on distributors doesn't automatically mean all downloads are legal. Then again, I'm no lawyer and I don't live in the US (in case that makes a difference). I don't claim to be right and I'm not condemning anyone, I'm just saying use caution and inform yourself IF you want to avoid avoid infringing a law.

Heh, that's a real nice link you got there. You need to actually have purchased the premium modules to be able to play them, though. Oh well. Maybe a Google search will yield something (Please don't ban me for saying that heh). I'm fairly certain that it is the distribution that is illegal, which is kind of iffy IMHO because you should be able to do what you want with your product (like share it with friends or complete strangers) after you purchase it under the philosophy of ownership, right? That's a completely different topic though.

What's really needed is some community content on the Vault which simulates the design of the much-desired "missing" Premiums.   *insert appropriate links to Vault content here*

I for one, feel unreasonably deprived of experiencing those adventures just because I came "late to the NWN dance" and had no forewarning that the proverbial rug would be pulled out from under the access of those modules.

I can however, readily sympathize with the feelings of those who forked over their cash to purchase them when they were available, especially should those Premiums be resurrected somewhere for a bargain price. (Reminds me of the sports faithful who invested in expensive stadium PSLs only to see the fees drop drastically when the anticipated market never evolved.)

Fortunately, though, there is so much excellent community-made content available, we of the deprived fraternity can drown our sorrows elsewhere.'B)'

               These premiums are available.
No one seems to want the money anymore, neither care or support it.
Life is short.
And guilt even shorter.
Beside being a quite delicious feeling.

Agreed. I do terrible things to small animals and children just for the ability to feel good about having been a wanker to some complete stranger. I also like to repeatedly cite Nietzsche whenever I discuss why I do these things with my victims or any passer-by that happens to take notice and cares enough to engage me in discourse
