Use The_Krit's brand new search tool to find recommended builds.  Just plug in the classes, select the number of levels and review in your leisure.  Whichever one you consider, you will need to add your subclass modifications at the beginning and keep track of the ability tally throughout the progression yourself since it will likely affect which feats will be available.  Use the other stats described in the build like AB, AC, saves, etc. as a baseline until you figure out how the subclass alters the numbers.

Honestly, WHAT are you looking for?  A defender is a melee heavy build.  What do you want out of a druid/ranger/monk?  Dragon shape?  Druids are either casters OR shifters.  Druid is a terrible class for melee outside of shapes.   Also, with 3 base classes you have to consider xp penalties.  And really, ranger druid require substantial investment in each class to make them worth taking in a build (cept for some RARE instances where people use ranger1 in epic to fill out an extra epic feat).

Like Hip says, take a look through the epic builds and see what you like. THEN modify it to fit.  But first, like I always tell people, you MUST know what you want out of a build FIRST in order to plan it correctly.

On the contrary, 1 Druid level is a perfectly good option if you intend to fight outdoors a lot...

there are some 29 and under areas with alot of time stop also alot of electrical and fire spells.  I would want it for the greater air elemental shape and the dragon shape.  I figure a half blue dragon that took the shape of a red dragon will be immune to both fire and electrical.  That was what I was thinking.  Thank you for the web page,.

Not that weird if you think about it.

Besides the obvious alignment changes, there's likely to be a stiff XP penalty with rogue skill dumps for a dwarf, if that was what you were considering. テつ The combination of both these liabilities contributes to what could be perceived as off-the-wall by many builders. テつ As you may have noticed, there was only one Brb/DwD build posted and even that was an experiment.テつ

But, hey!

You could be the first to develop something usable. テつ Give it a shot!

As others have already intimated, your first step in developing any build is to clearly define what you want to achieve. Once you do that, it will be MUCH easier to glean some guidance by the community.

P.S. BTW, you need not complicate the build with a subrace to gain the immunities you want. テつ Dragon Shape offers 3 forms, each with it's own immunity (fire, elect, acid). テつ Shifter wyrmlings are another way to deal with elemental damage.

Thank god that you said it that way!  My wife says i tend to be alittle blunt!  Thanks Hip for reiterating "nicely"!  'Posted'Posted

I have made a barbarian dwarven defender rogue.  What I was going for was a build with high HPs high DR and evasion.  Have not really seen much if any xp penalty.  So far I like the build.

Okay, now we are beginning to get somewhere.

I suggest you forgo the barb and substitute fighter. Why? Favored class for dwarf = fighter.

You will lose the DR stacking from barb, but really, who cares? テつ Barb DR is insignificant compared to DwD DR so that should be no issue. テつ Also there will be a HP drop, but again, what difference? テつ If you can build an epic character anywhere near 700 HPs and 27/- DR that should be plenty.

So, if you decided to follow my suggestion to explore Ftr/DwD/Rog builds, you would uncover at least grizz's Citadel build テつ which I choose as a sample because it concentrates mainly on Str and Con. テつ (You never mentioned a high BAB/AB requirement... I just assumed it.)

And there are several others worth considering equally effective depending on if you would like to dual-wield (& finesse) or how extensively you would like to develop your skill set (eg. UMD).

Understand. テつ It's not that a brb/dwd/rog build is bad. I just feel you are making it unnecessarily difficult for yourself and also somewhat limiting. テつ Obviously, if another unexpressed build requirement was Barb rage for example, fighter will not fit properly. テつ In that case, we would be back to Stage 1, "Defining Clear Objectives". テつ But the final choice is yours. テつ

Incidentally, in the brb/dwd/rog build, the moment the difference between your current Barbarian level and the Rogue level is greater than 1, there will automatically be an XP penalty imposed, whether you seem to notice it or not. テつ And you will continue to be penalized until they have been brought back into legal range.

Good luck in your search!

P.S. テつ For some reason, I am getting the impression that this is actually intended as a PvP build rather than PvM. In that case, I will be of little help since I do not PvP, not even a little bit. But there are others who play those servers and can help, I'm certain.

Grizz's builds are awesome, but in this case I'd prefer a Fighter 11 DWD 26 Rogue 3. That to me is the most optimized spread because you can have WS and EWS while still retaining a BAB of 30. '<img'>

Take it EZ!

Did not see any Bard Harper scout builds.  I made one.  Who is interested in seeing it?
