Was there ever a fix for the sound crashing bug?

I remember I loved this game, but could never play much of it because if I had the sound enabled, the game would crash.

Anyone remember that issue? Was there ever a fix? Might considering NWN again if there was

afaik all the sound crashes were always driver related. Try newest drivers, should help.

Still crashing with hardware sound options? Deactivate "Enable Hardware Sound" and try the software driver options in the Neverwinter "Advanced Sound Options" menu. Any last decade decent PC has more than enough horsepower to do software sound emulation.

Well my PC at the time was good enough for Crysis 1 when I originally was playing NWN. But I could never run the game with the sound enabled. I would always have to deactivate through the launcher or else it was crash city after the tutorial.

Thanks for the replies. I'll test it out.
