Recommended video card for Win7?

I just got a new computer that runs Windows 7 and has Intel video and sound. As you might imagine, the video framerates vary quite a bit and I'd like to buy a video card. It must be for less than $100, preferably a lot less. I don't care if it doesn't run contemporary games well at all, I just care about NWN.

               I think anything from either amd or nvidia will do fine. Check some benchmark tests and take whatever has the highest fps (for your chosen price range) in any modern game (you won't find benchmark results for nwn nowadays).


You should get an ok video card for 100 bucks, that will run nwn just fine. I'm not aware of anything that still has any nwn specific speed bonuses attached to it. Drivers stopped supporting that game specifically long ago.


I mean sure there may be an obscure combination around with old video cards and drivers that maybe will run nwn better than a modern 100 dollar card. But i think that would not be a wise investment.


My intel atom tablet runs nwn in hd with 20 fps in demanding spots (no landscape shadows and no AA).

You can not not run nwn with a dedicated card. Just buy something. You'll do fine.


As for recent cards: the nvidia 750 or 750 ti cards have the rather impressive new maxwell architecture (low power consumption, cool, 2014 release) and are slightly above your price range. They are pretty fast for a card that cheap. I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for a good deal, where they may drop below 100 dollars.
