GOG edition and multiplayer
«

One of our player recently bought game from GOG and wanted to play on our server. He already had an older account and this account is bound with older CDKEY he used to used.
Problem arrived when he changed his GOG cdkey with the old cdkey he used to have. Game simply refused to connect him into any multiplayer. It seems that GOG edition can only accept the cdkey that come with it.
Can anyone confirm this? How to solve this issue?

I can not confirm it. I have directed people in the past to change there CD-Key out in the past with the GoG version with no problems. GoG has recently added support for Win8. I do not know if something my have changed with that support.

I can freely swap keys around in my versions - alternating between CD, GOG, and Impulse versions. Most recently I did a wipe/rebuild of all my PCs and used the CDs to install on all systems. Then I just overwrote the keys with the GOG and Impulse keys I have.

Someone around here (or maybe it was on another board) posted something about how they couldn't remember their keys so they just made something up and were able to play
