NwN 1 incredibly slow after installation of GeForce GT 220 - solved

               Hello

After my old GeForce 7300 GT ceased to work, i bought from friend GeForce GT 220. Since then, every game i have installed runs better than before, apart from Neverwinter Nights. NwN is slowed down, and stuttering even in main menu. Loading of game takes much longer, and after closing game it stays in Task manager processes eating 10 000 kB. I tried newest drivers for my card, and two older versions with no succes. Can anyone help me plese?

My specs are:
Windows XP SP 3
Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz
1 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 220 with 295.73 driver

               Stick the exact card model in your topic to grab the attention of nVidia users better especially those who may have used or are currently using that card. 

Do you have any background processes (like security or virus) running? 

Remember, NWN uses a significantly different rendering method than many other games so may exhibit a different behavior with the same driver settings.

               Only security i have is Eset NOD 32 antivirus, and windows firewall (exception made for NwN). But i think that problem will be somehow connected to graphic card. Nwn was working just fine with GeForce 7300 GT and 7600 GS i had before.

               I think you should stick to using as new drivers as possible at least.

Have you installed the game according to all tips on the forums here? Like downloaded the 1.69 critical rebuild patch and all that?

Did you de-install the older card correctly?

Perhaps a format c: necessary??

               I guess there might be problem with de-installing the old card wrong way. Im going to format c: and reinstall system in few days. I just hope it will fix the problem.

               You should try a NWN Config scan before you do anything else and see what happens.

Start NWN, you get the Start up menu. In the start up menu you have the option "Configure", click on that. Then, you have a small window Click "Change" and in the next window click "Scan".

When it's done click "Accept" and you're done. Get out of there and start NWN and see if it

               Do you have "Environment Shadows" On or Off? if they are On, turn them off see what happens.

The 220 is pretty entry level with just a little more humph.

               It was some driver, or system issue. Reinstalled windows 7, and nwn runs smoothly
