Diamond unable to patch itself.

               Felt a hankering to play this old game so I slapped down $10 and downloaded it from GamersGate.  Installation went just fine, but the game will not patch itself.  The 'Update' button leads to this:

So, I googled 1.68, found it, downloaded it, but it won't install...says it can no be loaded into the current version of the game.

Solutions?

I found the thread that claims to have updated patch links...they are for Linux.  I am on a Windows 7 machine.  So please don't refer me to that thread, I tried it already.

Surely EA/Bioware would not sell a game that cannot be updated...

               Just above the Linux patches in Shia's list was the one for Windows

That should work 4u. The updater hasn't worked for years. '>

Read  Guide to Installing NWN1 for Win7 including patch links and follow the advice.

Sorry, but back to the thread. The links are there. And really, follow the installation advice if you want to avoid issues.
