Problems with Ubuntu Box
« on: August 21, 2011, 06:30:26 pm »

I have an old computer that used to run NWN as a server about three years ago. I hadn't touche it until now, when we needed to move hosts again. One of our friends had it set up to automatically load up a server when the machine boots... and gave us shortcut links for starting and stopping the server. The issue is.... it will load up the old module just fine, visable on GS and anyone can login. But when I try the new module it never loads. I'm pretty sure I updated the haks correctly so... what else could it be and how can I check for logs?

It depends on how the automatic server start up works. Is there a kind of config file that you need to edit to enter the name of the new module? To check for missing haks, look in the nwn/logs dir, there are the logfiles nwn creates on client or server start. If haks or tlks are missing, you will find hints in those logs.

To help you with the ubuntu server start up, I need more information about the way the nwn Linux server is set up.

Greetings

Thank you! Looks like it was a case issue... not a problem in windows, but kept ubuntu from using one hak file with a capital letter.
