No sound under Windows 7 64-bit
« on: June 17, 2011, 04:53:46 pm »

I reinstalled the game on my new PC but there is no sound. Using Realtek High Definition. Any ideas ? 3DSoundBack does not work either.

Thanks

               Same here.
Installed NWN yesterday, updated to 1.69. All worked perfectly. Restarted the PC, ran NWN once, alt-tabbed it, returned back - no sound. Now there's no sound at all when I run NWN. Spent about 2 hours trying to find a solution, no luck. Restarted PC, reinstalled NWN - same thing. It seems NWN can't detect my sound card anymore. Some people mentioned old EAX files deletion, but since Bioware has just destroyed its own forums structure they had for the past decade the links found in the web as well as from the BW forums are useless.

Ok, solved the problem. Somehow NWN corrupted some of my sound driver libraries. Reinstalling/updating the drivers helped.
In my case Realtek HD: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
