Upgrade 1.69 not complete, Installation of CEP 2.3
« on: January 29, 2011, 12:15:33 pm »

Hello gals and guys. Could I ask your advice again ?

Question 1 - My 1.69 Upgrade only worked part of the way somehow:

I have activated the “Upgrade button after starting the game and my game version gets
identified as 1.69.

The CEP  2.3 installation doesn’t work . I can’t reach most online worlds for example as I described in my former entry.  Problem with tlk files.

When I click on the CEP_Update-Test in in the CEP 2.3 files it says: the order “REG”  is either written incorrectly or could not be found. Does it mean the problem will disappear if I register my game ?

The text continues with “please upgrade to NWN 1.69."

When I click on the upgrade file in my NWN folder it tells me to get the critical rebuild at
http://nwn.bioware.c..._hotu.html#crit

However this page can’t be found . The place must have changed. Where do I find it now ?

Question 2 - Installing the CEP 2.3 afterwards :

I have an Information text, a PDF called CEPv2 Docs that describes the installation of 2.0 for non-builders like that:

All erf files to the erf folder, haks and mods likewise,
If you donot see a tlk folder, create one called tlk.

Is there such a text about the CEP 2.3 ?
I’d still  like to backcheck about this. I ‘d like understand more.

I downloaded the 2.3 , unzipped it and now of course I should treat the dmvault, docs, erf, hak, modules and tlk files likewise.

Why is this override folder in my 2.3 main file ? It is empty.  There already is an override folder with files  in my NWN installation  .
I suppose the empty folder is for  installations that don’t have this folder at all.

In my CEP 2.3 main folder are also the cepuplinex.sh and erf.linux, erf.mac files. I guess I’m supposed to ignore the latter two because my system is Windows.

There is also a single erf file. What do I do with that ?

               Go to

http://nwn.bioware.c...port/patch.html

and pick your patch (which if I'm not mistaken would be this one - but double check me on this please)

http://nwn.bioware.c...glish_hotu.html

As I understand it the erf is for BUILDERS, if you decide to build a module and you wish to INCLUDE some of the CEP2.3 content directly in the module (note this is different than adding the HAK because it literally places the things from CEP into your module - which _may_ bloat it to crashdom so be careful with this if you already have a load of custom objects in your module already). To import an erf you'd use the toolkit, FILE > IMPORT and select the erf then proceed to follow the prompts. Again NOTE this is not needed unless you are a BUILDER and you have some specific objects you wish to include - perhaps to modify.

For the purpose of playing, you really only need to put the haks in the hak folder and the tlk in the tlk folder. Hope this helps.
