New router... can't host
« on: January 28, 2011, 03:14:29 pm »

I got a new wireless router the other day, and it stopped me from being able to host a server. I'd appreciate if someone could help me with this. I gathered I need to do some port forwarding, but had no sucess. (I have a Belkin F5D7234-4 v3 if that makes a difference)

I opened up the 5121 port as seen in the screenshot below but people aren't able to connect still. Do I need to open up any aditional ports for this to work?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I'll also note that I can connect and play on other servers just fine, it's just when I host a server that other people are blocked from connecting.

Here are the port ranges I have used for hosting my old NWN 1 PW and is the same thing I use for NWN 2 as well:
PORT - Range ------- Protocol - Server Static IP
NWNA 5120 to 5129 TCP/UDP 192.168.1.12
NWNB 6667 to 6667 TCP/UDP 192.168.1.12

hmmmm don't need 27900 and 28900 for gamespy forwarding too?

alternative is to go to portforward.com

Select your router from list, select neverwinter nights as the game, runs you through the forwarding process.

The only settings I use on my servers over the last 7 years are those I listed, other port number settings have not been needed and works with both NWN 1 and 2.

I just launched our old Borderlands Server using the the below listed ports, you should be able to access it without issue.

PORT - Range ---- Protocol - Server Static IP
NWN1A 5120 to 5121 TCP/UDP 192.168.1.12
NWN1B 6667 to 6667 TCP/UDP 192.168.1.12

I will shut the server back down in two hours after this post.

Well, maybe you can't, only because the versions of CEP installed. The requirements and downloads needed would be found at this site and the server was long ago updated to 1.69
