making a nwn instalation portable.
« on: December 08, 2010, 09:19:05 pm »

i was wondering how to do this. i installed nwn onto an external drive and it works quite well from any computer i run it from but i eventually decided to get a new harddrive and i was wondering what if anything i need to change or alter to allow the game to run from it's new location. it used to be that i exported a few registry keys and imported them on any computer i played on but now were talking about the name and letter of the instalation drive changing and i dont think that will work

Just dropping NWN anywhere on your harddrive or partitions and starting it up once will create most of the Registry entries automatically. To make sure all registry entries are created, fire up NWConfig.exe(or by clicking "Configure" in the NWN startup menu), click "Change" and then "Scan"... this will create all registry entries.

That's all you need to do.
