While testing a module last night, my character's melee hits began doing maximum damage every time they hit an enemy.
This included the maximum variable damage of the weapon, any enhancement and strength bonuses on the weapon.
Secondary damage bonuses like that added by enchanting the weapon with Deafening Clang remains variable. Also, spell damage remains variable.
I have tested this on different characters, characters wielding different weapons across different modules, including the original campaign, and the results are the same. All melee hits across all characters, weapons and modules now do max base damage + enhancement + STR bonus on every hit.
I have not changed any scripts pertaining to combat, and cannot begin to think of anything I might have done to accidentally cause this game-wide bug. I was not running anything with custom scripts/content, and I have not altered any core files. What would cause the random melee weapon damage generator to spit out the same number every time? I know random numbers aren't really "random," but based on other numbers, but that's as far as my understanding goes.
No, I have not re-installed (sigh) the game yet. Of course I will if I have to, but thought I'd see if anyone here could help first.
