Odd bug: Melee hits always do max damage

               While testing a module last night, my character's melee hits began doing maximum damage every time they hit an enemy.

This included the maximum variable damage of the weapon, any enhancement and strength bonuses on the weapon.

Secondary damage bonuses like that added by enchanting the weapon with Deafening Clang remains variable. Also, spell damage remains variable.

I have tested this on different characters, characters wielding different weapons across different modules, including the original campaign, and the results are the same. All melee hits across all characters, weapons and modules now do max base damage + enhancement + STR bonus on every hit.

I have not changed any scripts pertaining to combat, and cannot begin to think of anything I might have done to accidentally cause this game-wide bug. I was not running anything with custom scripts/content, and I have not altered any core files. What would cause the random melee weapon damage generator to spit out the same number every time? I know random numbers aren't really "random," but based on other numbers, but that's as far as my understanding goes.

No, I have not re-installed (sigh) the game yet. Of course I will if I have to, but thought I'd see if anyone here could help first.

               Hey Fester, thank you so much for taking the time to read my issue and help puzzle it out. It turns out that I must apologize for wasting your time, but I am still sincerely grateful that there are guardian angels like you out there, even for dummies like me. '<img'>



So I took a short walk around the neighborhood to dislodge my brain from its usual tunnel-visioned diagnostic routine, and sure enough, upon returning to the conundrum, I decided to double-check all the game settings, including difficulty, the slider for which had somehow been moved all the way to "Easy."



In all my years, I've never used this setting, and so was unfamiliar with its rules. As soon as I started moving the slider, things seemed to return to normal.



What I said is still true: I honestly have no memory of changing the difficulty setting, nor could I think of anything I was doing that would have made me want to do so. It must have been either a misclick while I had that panel open, or some psychotic break as I entered the umpteenth hour of a marathon design/testing session. Or both.
