Creatures freeze-framing NWN
« Reply #30 on: October 13, 2010, 09:17:04 pm »

It's the most strange issue that I have seen in this game in all these years xD

Try others creatures BUT only creatures from the original game (no medusas, basilisks, beholders,...). Maybe it's a problem with the .dds textures of the creatures.

I have another suggestion.  Create  a little one area module with no haks.  Put in 1 creature that will cause you lag.  This should be as simple as possible and still get the lag.

Then create a project in these forums and post your module there.  People can then download it and see if it lags for anyone else.  If it lags for others then people can look at the module for problems.  If it does not lag for others then it looks like the problem is outside of the module.

Xenovant, I tried lots of default creatures, and most of them cause lagging, save the ones Inayiti has mentioned.

MudEye, thanks for the idea, but I'm pretty sure no one else will have the lag issue on their end because they don't have an ATI 3870, like I do. It is not a matter of the module, nor probably NWN itself, but the video card. As I explained in the very first post, I had never experienced any problem with my game, till I bought this video card.

Thanks everyone, I'm just tired of this... been probably more than a year of trying things out, when the answer was clear from the beginning: Ditch the crappy card, and buy a new one. Sadly, I have no money to feed myself anymore, much less to buy a new video card.

I give up.
