So I was having a problem which, judging by
other posts, is shared by others, when I tried running NWN under Ubuntu 10.04 (I use the Linux client but others report that running it under Wine doesn't help). The problem was that all menu and in-game text fields (including buttons, labels, editable fields, everyting) were truncated to about half of the first letter, with the rest of the area being blank space. I'd like to report that upgrading Ubuntu to the 10.10 beta seems to have corrected the problem for me, so it might be something to try if you've been experiencing this issue. Right now (9/27/10) the link to the beta is up on the ubuntu.com front page, and in any case the 10.10 release version should be out in a couple of weeks.
