Game Crashes when I equip armor
« on: September 11, 2010, 06:22:18 pm »

               Hello.

My game client is crashing when I equip armor. At first I figured it was a sound issue, but the problem persists even with sound disabled. It also doesn't crash every time, but roughly 25% of the time. I've tried different graphics settings with varying degrees of success, but haven't been able to fully resolve this. Any help would be appreciated.

If it helps, here's the specs for the machine causing the problem.

OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
Memory: 3GB
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+ Dual Core
Graphics Card: 2x Nvidia GeForce 8600GT running in SLI mode

It helps.  More detailed specs would help even more, both the community (to analyze) and you (to resolve).

v1.69? SoU & HotU installed? Overrides?  Disabled shiny water? Tried turning off threaded optimizations?  Tried rolling back driver?

In the interim, check this nvidia discussion from the legacy tech community.

If it doesn't happen all the time, are there any commonalities to the armor when the crash does happen?

Could be a piece not designed for your phenotype or race.

Does this happen with every race/sex (have you tried to narrow it down)?
