Framerate problem in a single module - Revenant
« on: July 18, 2010, 02:54:30 pm »

Running Vista Basic: 32 bit (SP2)
Processor: Pentium Dual Core E5300 @2.6 Ghz
Memory: 3GB RAM
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4350

Neverwinter Nights is running great during the main canpaigns and most modules. however, since I started Revenant, a module by McV, the framerate has become very inconsistent, dropping from ~60 to 5 in almost a second, the going back again, making the game feel very sluggish. This problem only happens while I'm playing the module. I have run the critical rebuild 1.69 but it hasn't helped at all. Anybody has any clue on what this might be?

Thanks in advance.'<img'>

I am not sure what may be the cause of your problem because I could not yet check the module you speak of. From the description on the nwvault download page, however, I get the feeling that module is heavily scripted. Perhaps there is some heartbeat script running in the background that triggers some action at certain times and that makes your game performance go down. Just a guess.

I've had no issues with Revenant so the only thing that comes to mind is it uses the TNO tilesets a lot which can cuase problems on older machines. i wouldn't have thought yours would be one of them tho so perhaps you should check for a video card driver update. A few versions ago catalyst didn't seem to play nice with those tilesets.
