Can't open module
« on: August 08, 2014, 08:38:00 am »

Last week I was cleaning an old back up disk and I found a module I was working on a few years ago. The nostalgic fever got me and I really wanted to know what it was all about. The only problem is, I can't open it! It says: This module requires the following Hak Paks, but they were not found. Emptyhak

So for all I know this is a custom hak pak. I'm pretty sure there was nothing in it (that's why it's probably called emptyhak). I tried to create a new Hak pak with NWhak.exe but it still won't open. Could anyone help me?

Thanks

go to NWN/hak/

choose some hak (I usually choose something with low size)

copy and rename to the name you need

that should allow you to open module - its however possible that even if you open it it will throw errors when you try to open area (missing tileset) etc.

the reason why this didnt worked for you is probably because completely empty haks arent considered "valid" by the toolset

Another option is to use NWN Hak and create your "empty" hak. Just add any text document using textpad or wordpad to it then save it. A single text file or even a misc 2da file is all you need for the game to load the hak.

Now that I've thought on it ... if you already have the CEP .. just copy and rename their "cep2_custom" hak as your empty hak.
