Searching for way to add custom music. Hitting dead ends.
« on: June 17, 2012, 07:24:18 am »

Years ago I had this figured out. But now I can't seem to get my custom music to show up in the tool set. On the boards here, all signs point to a tutorial that was on the old Bioware NWN Builders site (nwn.bioware.com/builders/sounds_bmu.html). But it doesn't seem to exist anymore since I'm always redirected to main BioWare page. Has the old music tutorial been archived anywhere. Even the Custom Content Guide at the Vault mostly only references this old link (on pg 154).

I know this much: I need to save my track in 128kbps/44k frequency. I need to convert it to bmu. I need to (I think) rename it to mus_songname.bmu and stick that in the music directory. Here's where things get hazy. I need to edit the ambientmusic.2da file to add new line that references my song's file. I don't how to do that and I'm not sure of where to find the 2da file. I've checked all my folders. The only thing I can find is a 2da.bif file that I can't open. And a 2dasource zip file that has an ambientmusic.2da file in it. Do I extract and edit that one? I also have CEP installed. Is there a CEP ambientmusic version that I should be editing instead? And once I edit this file, I believe I need to put it in a hak pak and load the hak pak into my module. But does it need to go on the top or the bottom of the hak list?

Thanks for any help.
