there is a few .2da's that handle music, you need to extend atleast one of those, with a row for each music file

ambientmusic.2da, there is several other for expanding sounds

ambientmusic.2da is all that is needed to get Area music working.

For sounds and placed sounds in the area - you just need to keep the sounds as a wav file type, and then have them present in the override directory.

Note - I use alot of custom music and sounds in my PW.
I discovered that wav's, and BMU's are considered 'optional' extras to nwn.
Meaning, if you keep the content, outside of a hak file, then the players of persistent worlds, can still get into that pw, even if they dont have the content. They wont hear the content, but they wont be booted either.

I you have not checked it out yet, take a look at the Community Music Pack. I had originally started converting files I wanted - mostly the Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 Music, then found the CMP that has that plus a boatload of other music. At least you can look at how they set up the Ambientmusic 2DA

to create a hakpak you use nwhak.exe in your NWN/utility folder.

the .2da is a simple text file so use NWexplorer to extract the .2da you want from the last extension. (expansion, patch, cep, Project Q or whatever it might be) and then add your own lines.

create the hak with music files and your good to go.
