Item Costs in the Toolset
« on: July 02, 2011, 07:45:55 pm »

I read somewhere that the cost of properties change (sometimes greatly) based on the type of item they are placed on.

For example, 10% immunity to fire might cost X on a shield, but it will cost Y if placed on a ring.

Is this true?  More importantly, can anyone direct me to a resource or chart that lists some (or all) of these changes?

Thanks for the help!  '<img'>

It is not an easy formula.  I tried to explain it once  here.

The Link to the Item Format Documantation will no longer work in that thread. To view a copy of it the best place to look would be in:
NWN Omnibus: Offline search tool for select legacy BioWare forums, documents, CCG, Lexicon and more.

EDIT: It does not look like I explained much in that thread. I just added some color to a past fron the ItemFormat documantation.

Yes its true, i suggest you using either CEP2 (not very well implemented however) or my community patch in order to be able to adjust the cost of the item in toolset. The patch's solution is cleaner but atm it doesnt work with CEP2 so if you got CEP2 already you should find it somewhere there.

The official BioWare documentation is available on the Vault.

You can set an items value to whatever you want regardless of properties with nwnx_funcs. Though, if you decide to redo the whole value system, its alot of work.

nwns default value system is bollocks btw, imo.
