The Genisys Starter Module
« on: October 30, 2014, 11:22:41 am »

I've been working hard for years to bring the community some rock solid custom content, indeed I've been scripting for years now, and I've play tested all of my work as well, so I'm about ready to start pulling it all together into one Base Module, for those who don't know how to script all those fancy custom things you see on many of the big servers....

The Genisys Starter Module will be CEP v2.3 and use NWNX2 for Servers / LAN Use Only

(I'll Work on the Single Player Starter Module and post it AFTER I'm done with the above main server module)

Here is a quick and incomplete list of what the module currently includes....

The Genisys APS Persistent SQL Database  (A revision of the APS Include Script for ease of use and more functions)

This APS Database is the foundation of all of my code work, because everything that is persistent, like locations, persistent chest, and any variables that are stored persistently will go into the SQL Database

The Genisys Merchant System (One Area for all stores and One Chest to open ANY Store that uses just ONE Script!)
The Genisys Subraces and Subclasses   (Uses nwnx_funcs.dll instead of Shayan's subrace system and it's well over 50 Subs!)
The Genisys Persistent Storage Chest (Uses the SQL Database and includes a persistent DM Store that is optional)
The Genisys 1.69 Spell System (Has MANY Optional Settings to control ALL Spells, including damage and DC on spells)
The Genisys x2 Treasure System (The Best Treasure System you will find, period.)
The Genisys Enchanting Gems (An optional "Add Item Property System" eliminates the need of a forge.)
The Genisys CEP v2.3 DM Forge (One Script, One Item, On Placeable Object, and Every Property In CEP 2.3 included!)
The Genisys God Level System (An Optional Level 41 - 80 System that levels up the PC Automatically On Rest / No Conv)
The Genisys Polymorphing System (Includes fixes for all Shapechange and Polymorphing Spells as well, merging properties)
The Genisys XP System (A highly custom system with A LOT of settings to control how it works w/ a custom msg!)
The Genisys Custom Conversation System (One Scripting Set for ALL Conversation to reduce script count in the module.)
The Genisys - Mil Tailors System (Includes even more options for the tailors, includes portraits & voicesets)
The Genisys PC Assistant (A custom DM Assistant Conversation to Re-level / Change Alignment / Delete Character / etc.)
The Genisys Template System (A set of template placeable objects and items that use one script for all portals / items / etc.)
The Genisys Custom Summons System (An Easy to Customize System to get rid of the default punk familiars and summons)
The Genisys Class Enhancement System (Highly configurable custom class modifications w/ configuration script)
The Genisys Feat System (Allows the admin to change how some feats work with one configuration script!)
The Genisys Module Time Keeper (A simple placeable that tracks times, restarts the module, and sends out messages.)
The Genisys Auto-Save System (A set of scripts that automatically save a character if NOT Polymorphed or Between Areas)
The Genisys VFX System (A simple script that works OnAreaEnter Event that sets permanent VFXs on placeables)
The Genisys Custom Color System (This script adds color to the module, scripts, and PC Chat, all optional of course.)

NOTE: I'm STILL WORKING ON THIS LIST...

NOTE: I will include in the .zip file all of the Windows 32 Bit DLL Plugins I'm currently using for NWNX2 (but not nwnx2)

AND the nwnx.ini settings I'm using, for ease of setup.

What I need the community to do is to post anything you would like to see added to this Base Server Module.

What about housing, factions, quests, languages, weather, journals, horses, deity system, monster AI,....I might think of some other things but those are just some cool features I've seen implemented in other modules.

Everything you mention is not included, sorry....

However, good news, the module is almost finished!!! (I still need to do documentation, which may take a few weeks or even months...)

I've got 2,400 script compressed & recoded into less than 500 scripts!!!  (I think it's closer to 400 scripts)

Also, all those scripts includes over 15 custom conversations!!!! (Forges, Tailors, and all!)

I've also added a lot of nice custom include scripts  (_inc)  template scripts  (_tmpl) & so many cool things!

By any chance does your version of Mils allow for customization of shields?!! LOL Also I was just mentioning things you may be interested in adding not really asking if they were in there.

I'm actually using a modified rendition of 420's rendition of Mil Tailors, indeed 420 was a bit lazy in coding the CEP part of it, so it ran into issues with the TMI error when reading large empty sections of the 2das....  This is going to be a very high quality scripted module btw, but I'm still working on the module, so don't expect a release anytime soon...

(In short it has the best tailoring system, also it was integrated into a single conversation scripting system, and that means far fewer scripts indeed!)

After looking at the list i can't think of any other thing that could be added other than some of the scripted items you created a while back.
