Testing My Module
« on: December 07, 2011, 01:05:12 am »

Hello, I am very new to the Aurora Editor. I have been creating my module, however I am not able to test it. When I click on Test Module (F9), nothing happens. The editor minimizes, but my module does not start up. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this?

double check to make sure that your module is being saved into the modules folder.

I have already checked to make sure that it is being saved into the module folder. Is there anything else that could be preventing me from testing my build?

The only thing I've got up my sleeve is that Neverwinter Nights is not updated to the version that added the F9 functionality.

Additionally, make sure you have a character that will load. If your local vault directory is empty, that means no characters are available, thus no character to load.

FP!

Yeah, the local vault was my first suspicion.  When Test Module is activated it automatically selects the first character name collated in sequence.

One question I wonder about, though.   It involves bic versions vs. save versions.

If a character bic is saved in one patch version, is it automatically compatible in a newer patch version?  I tend to think it is because my own list of toons includes many "flavors" of characters that have been selected from randomly... but not really sure if a conflict is possible.  Then again, if the first name in sequence happens to be a toon built with the PRC, will it install and play in any random module test?

If the first toon is PRC and you F9 a non PRC mod, it will try to load your PRC character and not work.
I'm fairly sure that I remember it giving an error message about the character being invalid though.
