Well...
Since I'm on the threshhold of the final release, I thought I'd mention some of the major changes coming to the mod.
1) The module has been changed from multiplayer to single player. There's a crucial point where several players acting in a given area will cause the script to break down and produce all kinds of unexpected results. It doesn't happen in SP, so SP it is.
2) Fennvale is NOT a hack-and-slashers mod! NPCs talk. A LOT. The total word count for this mod is 448,894 words. So far. HnS folks will twitch and eventually explode if they try to play this mod. Seriously. You will
hate it. Stay away.
3) Fennvale is still non-CEP because, believe it or not, I still don't know which version of CEP is current or how to add it in. I know, I know - what rock am I living under? Well, I've been literally keeping my nose to the KB for ages now while scripting and I've missed an awful lot of what's been going on in the community lately. Heck, I didn't even know about this new forum until I came across a link on the Legacy boards that pointed to it...
4) Point number two may change if I actually get around to looking at the CEP. If so, I'll be certain to let it be known.
5) I will soon be removing the beta (like right-after-I-post-this soon) from the Legacy vault because I don't want it around once the newest version is out. And I'm putting together a web page soon, but I'm still waiting for some art from a friend and I have a lot of writing to do for the exhaustive walkthrough.
6) The reason for the looooong delay is because I am the sole area creator, scripter, conversation writer, bug-tester, whatever else doer. This is why I'm so grateful for all the feedback I've gotten over time because it's helped me to pinpoint things rather quickly...or, rather, relatively quickly...
7) if you've actually read this far, I thank you for your support and I hope this mod will hold up to your expectations as a player.
