Swordflight Update

It appears several authors have used the shift of forums as an opportunity to give updates or announcements concerning their projects, so I thought I would test-drive my new account here by doing the same. I am the author of the award-winning module Swordflight Chapter One (see links in my signature), and am currently hard at work making Chapter Two of this series, which I am going to pretend is eagerly anticipated so as to provide an excuse for this post. My goal is to create a series that evokes some of the spirit of Baldur's Gate, with challenging tactical combat, old school dungeon crawling, interaction with colorful NPCs and non-linear exploration against the backdrop of an epic story, while also taking advangtage of the versatility of NWN-style conversations to provide enhanced role-playing options that go beyond what a game of that era would have done.
Unfortunately there is still a long way to go before I have the next installment ready for release since it appears that whatever muse inspired me to take on this project not only wanted a BG-style series, but one that compares favorably to BG in scale as well (it is possible my muse is insane). Chapter Two is going to be big, and its non-linear structure (the player spends much of the game wandering around Calimport finding ways to get in trouble) makes it complicated as well. I have not been twiddling my thumbs however: while far from finished, Chapter Two currently has more than 100 areas, most of them full of interesting things for a player to do (or things a player may want to flee from in terror, as the case may be). Sometimes I despair of ever completing this chapter (nevermind the subsequent ones, which hopefully will not be quite as huge) but now that I take this opportunity to look back at what I have already done I am rather amazed to see all I have accomplished in a couple years or so of disorganized and undisciplined work. So perhaps there is hope after all. Regardless, playing and building for NWN over the past few years has been an extraordinary experience and I am confident it will continue to be.

rogue - you don't need to "present" anything - I know that there are quite a few of us anxiously awaiting the much anticipated, awesomely inspired, fantabulistic continuation of Sworflight (1).
Ooooohhh....we get to wander Calimport finding ways to get into trouble? Trouble usually finds me.
Glad to hear this is still in the works, rogue.

Very nice, thanks for the update!

And Eva is right, no need for pretending: Chapter 2 actually *is* eagerly awaited. So you better get to work!

Thanks for the kind words. I am working on it steadily, if not always with maximum efficiency.

Sweet, this is good news. Swordflight is my favorite module that has come out in the past couple of years so I may have to install nwn on my new computer when this comes out.
