Infinite Dungeons: i just got NWN and i missed it...
« on: July 19, 2010, 08:45:59 pm »

Just picked NWN up the other day, found Infinite Dungeons on the net. just found out that there's no way to get a hold of this. the thought of going Levels 1-40 in a randomly generated difficult dungeon just got me hyped. I know that there's a free alternative but it's balanced for 4 players and will be hell. why was the Premium Modules removed? and why haven't they been released for free then? they obviously aren't doing any money making with them at the moment.

If only we knew. They'll know their reasons, and in most cases such things have to do with legal issues and license trouble. If not, I wish they'd at least consider selling the rights and letting someone else re-issue them on discs or online, if they can't be bothered with distribution themselves anymore. But it might never happen.

Atari (or Hasbro) wished to promote NWN2 as the "new thing" and decided that the best way to get NWN2 to take off was to cut off Premium Module support as well as patch support for the original.

Several years have passed and they still don't want to reopen this venue. It is silly.

Atari needs to jump in a lake then. I already have a hard time with 3rd ed. rules and saw this as the only way to play with them properly. Back to IWD and BG then.

Just curious, what module is the free alternative balanced for 4 players?

Loyal fans will be loyal fans, the only way to change this would be to make playing NwN illegal, at which point I still think there'd be underground factions.

If you're talking about the Premium modules "Pirates of the Sword Coast", "Wyvern Crown of Cormyr" and "Infinite Dungeons", sadly they're not available for purchase anymore. Atari withdrew their support for them.

Here is a copy I wrote to Atari Support and there reply to me on 9/25/1010:

Perhaps there reply was just BS!

Game: Neverwinter Nights: Diamond

Platform: PC DVD-ROM

Once these modules become available once again will I be able to re-download them for free since I still have the email receipt for when I purchased them? Is there anything I can do in the meantime to also bring this to Bioware's attention to hopefully speed up the process of having this resolved. If there aren't reminded about this issue I think it will be pushed to the side beacuse Bioware and Obsidian are very large companies and there always looking into the future of gaming. I think there will be a very small chance of them correcting this issue since they offered modules for this game I believe around 2008.Coming to the realization of them thinking "hey someone purchased our modules at our store and is now asking to re-download them but it is not available" is relatively small. Is there a phone number or email address that I can also address this issue with? I have tried contacting Bioware many times at different support email addresses but I never receieved a response rgearding this issue. I was only to make contact with one person from the updated Bioware store whom left me a message on my phone stating that they don't usually deal with the Bioware games themselves and directed me back to the Bioware website. I then noticed Bioware mentioned Atari support for this game which is why I have contacted you. It seems at least I am getting someonewhere now slowly. I will also try to contact Obsidian but I doubt they can help me because they produced the neverwinter nights sequel and not the original game. So if you can leave me a phone number or email address of someone whom I can also address these concerns with it will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Game: Neverwinter Nights: Diamond

Platform: PC DVD-ROM

Category: Account & Billing Services

I have contacted Bioware regarding re-downloading modules that I purchased for Neverwinter Nights Diamond in 2008 at the Bioware Store.

Perhaps you can assist me with this issue or refer me to someone whom can?

Thank you.

Customer Service Responses:

Hello, Thank you for contacting Atari Support. We are currently working on having the Neverwinter Nights Modules made available once again. We are having discussions with Bioware / Obsidian to make this happen. Please accept our apologies for the delay in getting back to your request, Unfortunately we do not have a time frame as to when these modules will be available again. Thank you, Atari Support

Greetings, If you have the e-mail receipt it is certainly possible you will be able to download the modules again. The best way to let them know there is a demand for this and to possibly speed up their movement to make this download available. Unfortunately I do not have any e-mails I can give you to contact bioware. Thank you, Atari Support
