DDS Decompression
« on: June 29, 2014, 02:52:47 pm »

I got a question about decompression of NWN dds files.

i use ddstools for the compression and i read that it should also be able to decompress dds files.

however, the batch file the program comes with does not let me convert dds to tga, only tga to dds.

what commands do i need to add to a batch file to decompress dds files with ddstools?

or do i need another program to do this? (gimp dds plugin does not read the nwn dds format sadly)

thanks a lot

Not sure about ddstools, but on the old vault there was nwn_dds_decomp: http://webcache.goog...n&ct=clnk&gl=us

This was the code/program that Acaos integrated into his version of nwexplorer, I believe.

Explorer was able to export dds files as tga files long before Acaos ever revamped the program. In fact, I still use the old version of explorer because Acaos' version has never worked properly for me.

i ran into some problems myself. i think the difference is whether you right click on the file name or on the displayed image in nwnexplorer-reborn. i think it is the former, that works, though i still get it mixed up regularly
