               Ok, just to let you know, an update.

I followed Hip's suggestion and downloaded the critical rebuilt for the Italian version of the game. Finally, the console works and I succeeded in destroying the scavenger and the guardian.



Unfortunately, the trap room still works as it wish, so each time I enter, I loose my weapons. A good reason to avoid that room :-D



Another question for you. Since I've finished the first level, should I create the items to control and destroy golems, or they would not work in the other levels of the dungeon? Thanks

Eccellente!

Just remember how it works for your next game.  It's likely you don't have any save from before you entered the dungeon the first time.  You should be able to avoid the theft following the aforementioned tested method even with v1.68.  Even without a quality weapon in hand, the spirit will acquire Merkil's Hammer (by script default) and can be very difficult to destroy.

Another question for you. Since I've finished the first level, should I create the items to control and destroy golems, or they would not work in the other levels of the dungeon? Thanks

*Spoiler*

You will be able to use those items on the maker level, not with the Maker but you'll likely discover exactly where.  I usually keep those items until I am ready to leave Ch 2, then sell them for a bit of gold.

               No, it is not matter of the save file before entering the dungeon. I suppose it's a bug with custom weapons. I am not able to leave my bastard swords on the ground, to sell them or to give them to another character... So I am definitely not try to enter the room! :-D



Ok, going to create the item! But not the attractor, I don't think that attracting golems to my position could be of any help o_O

               Just finished that room last night and what I did was I dropped my Ensric talking sword in the Loth temple back at the Seer's camp and went to the merchant there and purchased a +2 flail. I did this because I noticed I had the same thing happening as you did Vaalyah my sword would always dissappear never to be found again. It worked though because this time around I had to battle the flail instead of my sword and the sword was still there when I went back to check later....

               You had a nice idea! Unfortunately, that was my first try with HotU, so I didn't know my swords were going to disappear... if I'd known, I would have left them outside of the dungeon too ;-P

Actually I tried that too, I left it outside the entrance to the dungeon and equiped my Ithica neck Knife(might have that name wrong) in the main slot and still when I got to that room I was battling my talking sword not the neck knife. I found I had to leave it far far away on a different continent...hehe

What determines which weapon the spirit uses is what you have equipped the moment you enter the dungeon THE FIRST TIME.  That item tag is grabbed for the spirit encounter.  Typically I will equip a mundane weapon of some sort because if you equip a range weapon or bare fists, the spirit will use Merrick's (sp?) Hammer by default, a rather nasty weapon.

Dropping it outside on the ground is just fine as long as you haven't entered the dungeon yet.  As far as how the game manages "custom" items, I don't know.  As long as the weapon appears on the item pallette, in theory, it should work just like any other item.

               Ahh ok that is why it worked when I dropped it at the Seer's temple, because the save I went back to I had not visited the Isle of the Maker yet....
